Dr. Michael Lieberman, known as Dr. Mike, is a board-certified pediatric dentist with advanced training and extensive clinical, teaching, and private practice experience. He holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, recognized as the top dental school in the country. Dr. Mike completed his pediatric specialty residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He has served as faculty at the University of Pennsylvania/Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for four years and continues to instruct dental students and pediatric residents as a faculty member at NYU College of Dentistry. Dr. Mike is deeply committed to personalized, one-family-at-a-time dental care, specializing in the needs of children—including those with special needs—by providing gentle, individualized treatment. Having returned to his family roots in New York, Dr. Mike is proud to raise his own family in Westchester and serve the local community with compassionate, prevention-focused care in a modern, environmentally conscious office.
Our practice specializes in gentle, preventive pediatric dental care from the first tooth through adolescence and beyond for special needs patients. We offer comprehensive exams, professional cleanings, tooth-colored fillings, sealants, space maintainers, extractions, and white zirconia crowns. Same-day emergency care is available, and all appointments are structured so families enjoy our full attention in a calm, welcoming environment. Parents can stay with their children throughout every visit, ensuring comfort and partnership at every step. We are committed to laying a strong foundation for lifelong oral health through education, prevention, and highly individualized care.
Dr. Mike offers advanced CO2 laser frenectomy to release tongue and lip ties for infants and children. Using minimally invasive technology, the laser procedure is gentle, fast, and virtually bloodless—improving breastfeeding, speech, sleep, and facial development with minimal discomfort and rapid healing. This approach reduces trauma and scar tissue compared to traditional methods. Each treatment is guided by a comprehensive airway assessment, ensuring patients have optimal function for feeding, breathing, or speech. Complimentary consultations are available to families seeking guidance on tongue-tie or lip-tie concerns.
Comprehensive pediatric airway assessment is a cornerstone of our approach to healthy development. Dr. Mike evaluates breathing, facial and jaw growth, sleep patterns, mouth breathing, snoring, and feeding to uncover airway restrictions and their root causes. Early detection and intervention can prevent complications such as sleep-disordered breathing, speech or behavioral challenges, and chronic health problems. Our clinic provides individualized treatment recommendations, including orthodontic and myofunctional therapy referrals, and prioritizes parental involvement and education each step of the way.
Nitrous oxide sedation, also known as 'laughing gas,' is a safe, mild option to help anxious children feel relaxed and comfortable during dental treatment. Tailored to each child’s needs, this gentle sedation is administered under the care of Dr. Mike and allows for a pleasant, positive experience while keeping your child fully awake. Our child-friendly environment and communication ensure both child and parent feel secure throughout the process.
Deep sedation is provided for children who require extensive dental treatment, have dental anxiety, or cannot be treated with lighter sedation. Partnering with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist, we offer this advanced, in-office service to ensure comfort and safety. Dr. Mike’s experience with special needs and anxious patients guarantees a personalized, reassuring approach for both child and family. When medically necessary, general anesthesia is available at Westchester Medical Center.
Our clinic is dedicated to serving children with special healthcare needs, offering truly individualized, one-on-one care at a pace suited to each patient. Dr. Mike has extensive training with special needs populations, and our space is welcoming for children with sensory sensitivities or medical complexities. Parents are welcome throughout the visit. With no age limits, patients with special needs can continue receiving continuity of care into adulthood in a supportive, familiar setting.
